Nancy and Alex hired me in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their goal was to have a wedding with all of their friends and family. Something that seemed a very long way off back in 2020. With this in mind, we actually choose a date in 2023 with the hopes that COVID wouldn't be a problem anymore. With over 2 years to plan the wedding, we were challenged with planning and designing a wedding that wouldn't feel dated by the time it rolled around. Because of this, we ended up updating the design over time and making minor adjustments as we went. All of which has lead to a fantastic design, a stress-free experience, and one great wedding.

For Nancy and Alex's design, we leant into different shades of pink and textures like velvet to complement the rustic atomosphere of The Lake House. And if you know The Lake House then you know that it has one of the most iconic fireplaces in Calgary and dressing up the mantle with flowers was number one on our list. The flowers and greenery were draped across the mantle to create a whimsical look that made a statement.
