Venue: Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage
From our first meeting, Melissa and Joel were set on a summer outdoor wedding and were looking for venues that had a bit of a rustic flair along with a great outdoor space. When I heard this, I knew that they would love one of my favourite venues, The Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage. After their site visit, they were sold on a Coutts Centre wedding.
The Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage has continually upgraded their property and venue over the years to create a beautiful setting for any wedding. Some of our favourite features are the “i wanna grow old with you” sign, the flowers and lush plant life everywhere you turn, and all of the upgrades to the Hayshed Pavilion including the wind resistant screens (a feature that allows you to take in the beauty of the venue for the entire reception without having Mother Nature interfere).
Back to Melissa and Joel…with a property that provides so much beauty, it was incredibly easy to provide small enhancements with the design to make it theirs. With their peach and blush colour palette with pops of blue, we were able to work in stunning flower arrangements for the ceremony and the reception. We added vintage place settings with a mix and match vibe that added colour and textural interest to the design. Melissa and Joel added a personal touch by adding their pets to the bar menu and having a friend create PEZ dispensers with their heads 3D printed on the top. And to top everything off, Melissa bought a patterned wedding dress that flowed and moved with her throughout the day and added to the outdoor vibe of their day.
If you're into beautiful weddings, behind-the-scenes, and you'd like to get married in Calgary or the Rockies, you've come to the right place.
